While we’re still in a new year’s mood and haven’t yet forgotten about 2016 completely, I guess it’d be great to make a recap of the past year. And since I’ve been really into beauty stuffs during the past year, I’ll be rounding up beauty-related things. In this post, I will write about 5 best beauty products that really got into my heart. It includes skincare products and makeup products.

2016 best beauty products

Skincare Products

1. COSRX AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid

COSRX AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid Review - This hyped Korean skincare product helps to resurface your skin and removes whiteheads

I have only begun to use this product at the end of 2016 but already mesmerized by it.  This product is the first Korean skincare products I tried. And needless to say, this product blew me away. It’s really a nice start into the magical world that is Korean skincare products. I’ve been hooked ever since. It answers my prayer of great chemical exfoliator that is gentle to my skin and does the job. If you have whiteheads problem like I do, you’d love this product too. Oh, and did I mention that it’s affordable too? You could find me raving about it in this

You could find me raving about it in this post.

2. Son & Park Beauty Water

2016 best beauty products

As I’ve said before, ever since I tried COSRX products I’ve been falling head over heels over Korean skincare products. I yearn for more of its goodness and found one particular product that’s quite heavily raved by Kbeauty lovers. It’s Son & Park beauty water. I haven’t written a review on it since I’ve only been using it for around two weeks now. And I require at least 28 days of trial before reviewing a product. But so far this product has stolen my heart and quickly serve a place on my holy grail podium. It gives me glow and clear skin. But I won’t spoil much more because it’s the subject of my next review. Keep coming back to find out 😉

3. Aesop Parsley Seed Antioxidant Serum

Aesop Parsley Seed Anti-oxidant Serum Review - A serum from a nature-based brand Aesop that's filled with Anti-oxidant

Despite being spoilt with the wonderful choices of Korean skincare products, I didn’t forget where I started. When I first jump into the skincare craze, I started mostly with Australian products. Some of them might have been replaced by Korean products I’ve been trying a lot lately but this one persist. This product is now on my permanent skincare arsenal for the reason you can read here.

Makeup Products

I know I haven’t got the chance to write about make-up here in my blog. For one, I’m not really good at it to be frank. Also, I still have to ration the portion of my income for beauty products. And obviously I choose skincare over make-up. Hence, I don’t have much to talk about that department yet. But I’m working on it I promise 🙂

1. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

2016 best beauty products

If there’s only one make-up item I’m allowed to go out with, it would be concealer. I have a naturally dark undereye and I’m still working on the confidence to flaunt them. In the meantime, concealer is my best friend. And since I’ve been using it ever since I knew the slightest thing about makeup, I’ve tried lots of product. None are disappointing but they all did okay job covering my flaw. Until I found Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. It’s the best concealer I’ve ever tried in terms of coverage, durability, and price. I might not want to try other concealers as long as I have this.

2. Too Faced Chocolate Palette

Haven’t I told you that make-up isn’t really my forte? Yet I always keen to try. I’ve watched countless makeup tutorial on youtube and always fascinated and at the same time, confused on how those beauty-vloggers does such flawless make-up look. Especially the eye make-up. I remember my first eyeshadow, it’s Naked Basic by Urban Decay. But even after years of owning it, I can’t master the art of flawsome eyeshadow, I don’t know if it’s me or the product. Now that I’ve quite more practiced, I tried my luck on another palette. And boy, I’m in love. The Too Faced Chocolate Pallette is not only easy on the eye figuratively but also literarily. It blends so seamlessly and the colors are so pigmented! They also have lots of colors I can play and experiment with. It’s really good for a makeup dummy like me. And the cherry on top is, they smell like real chocolate! If you’re a makeup dummy like me and only want to buy one eyeshadow palette, I’d say buy this product.

So, those are 5 beauty products that I consider the best of the best throughout 2016. Do you agree? Or do you have your own list of 2016 Best Beauty products? Share it with me so that I can try it too. It might be on my next year list 😉
